The Coldplay couple caught on the “kiss cam!” and, The high cost of sin!
DAILY DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY JULY 22, 2025
(Romans 6:23 )
PERSONAL MESSAGE FOR YOU FROM BILL KELLER: Be kind to all of those you interact with today even if you might be having a difficult day. Sometimes just being kind to someone can have a profound impact on their day.
DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, keep my mind free of the filth of this world. Cleanse it each day with Your Word and let my thoughts be Your thoughts. Help me this day to dwell on You and Your love as I live my life for Your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!
THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: The “Coldplay kiss cam” episode. Chances are unless you have been on a deserted island or haven’t watched TV or been on the internet in the last 5 days, you are one of the 100 million plus people who have seen the viral “Coldplay kiss cam” video. Coldplay is a British rock band formed in London in 1997 and over 28 yrs have had some major hit songs. Last week they were performing a concert in Philadelphia. Attending that concert was Andy Byron, the married CEO of a private technology company named Astronomer he was a co-founder of and Kristin Cabot, the married head of Human Resources at the company.
During the concert as happens in many sporting events and live events, on the stadiums jumbo TV they put up a “kiss cam.” This is where a camera is trained upon people in the crowd with the goal of having them kiss each other when they see themselves. The Coldplay kiss cam zeroed in on Byron and Cabot who were instantly horrified. Byron literally went to the ground to get out of the picture, and Cabot turned her back and quickly moved out of the shot as well. Chris Martin, the lead singer for Coldplay laughed as he stated “those two are either having an affair or are very shy.” A person in the audience filmed the event and posted it on the social media site Tik Tok where it went viral FAST!
I have often shared with the Liveprayer audience in the Daily Devotional and TV program that there are several places in God’s Word that states “the evil men do in the dark, God will expose to the light of day.” The obvious moral to this event is simple. You don’t need a theology degree to conclude that if you are married you don’t go out with someone who is not your spouse. I have no clue if these two were having a sexual affair. However, even if they weren’t if you are married the only person you go out with is your spouse and you never have to be worried about being busted by a “kiss cam” or running into someone you might know.
A key teaching in God’s Word is that we often pay a high price for sin. In today’s Daily Devotional I talk about eating a $68,350 cheeseburger. It is a great Word full of Truth! Even though Byron was a co-founder of the company he was the CEO of, the Board of Directors asked for his resignation and he gave it to them. There is not an official word yet from the company on Cabot’s job. Citing the obvious, it is the HR department in companies that set the rules for employee conduct. Most companies frown on employees dating, tho it is almost inevitable. It would be interesting to see Astronomer’s official position on this subject.
On top of the job issue is the fact that both Byron and Cabot are married. There is no mention if Cabot has children but Byron has two. Incident’s like this often lead to divorce so it is not just Byron and Cabot’s lives, it now the lives of their spouses and in Byron’s situation his 2 children. Again, sin always comes with a very high price tag. Let me add, even if they had not been shown on the kiss cam and their date night exposed to the world, even if they were clever in covering their tracks so that nobody ever found out about their affair, the fact is God knows because He sees everything!
Please take the time to read today’s Daily Devotional below. The Truth to never forget is that we all are prone and tempted to sin each day in many ways. God’s Word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 promises that He will always provide a path of escape. Think back on the times you have sinned. There was that moment, that fleeting opportunity to NOT sin. I can only encourage you to be like Joseph. When confronted with the opportunity to sin with Potiphar’s wife he RAN from sin. Sadly, too many make the choice not to take that path of escape. I will be praying that the next time you face sin, you will be like Joseph and run from sin!

JULY FINANCIAL UPDATE: PRAISE THE LORD! Thanks to many praying and those able stepping up to make a sacrifice to the Lord’s work here at Livprayer, we covered the balance of our May shortfall! Amen!
So that means we have the $55,000 from our June ministry operations and the $55,000 for July making a total of $110,000 to end the month with all of our ministry operations current heading into August, our 26th anniversary month. God is great!
Every year since Liveprayer began we have a difficult time during the summer months as school is out and people are on vacation. However, our God is faithful and always has a ram in the bush. Everyone can pray for God’s blessings over our finances, and those who He has enabled pray about what you can do in the first days of July to help me.
The Bible teaches us to “give according to our ability to give.” For some that may be $10 or $20. For others it may be $50 or $100. Still others it may be $200, $500, $1,000, $10,000 or more. God will bless your gift no matter the amount.
Also, don’t forget a gift of $1,800 covers one day of ministry at Liveprayer. I received this email recently, “Pastor Bill, My wife and I have just sold our last rental and God told us to tithe $1,800.00 to pay for a day of your ministry. Not looking for accolades, just that you know when you receive the check. Rest assured that we will still be making our regular weekly tithes."

As I watch various high-profile-legal cases in the news each day, I can hear Paul standing before the people of his day declaring, "The wages of sin is death!!!"
Imagine going through the drive-thru at McDonalds, ordering a cheeseburger, fries, and a coke, and when you get to the window being told you owe $68,350!!!
A reoccurring point I make many times every week is that sin has a HUGE price tag. Sin is like having an American Express Black card with no limit and spending all day shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. You can buy anything you want no matter how much it costs. You come home with new clothes, shoes, jewelry, appliances, furniture, artwork, and anything else you wanted to buy. Then one day, the bill comes in the mail.
You open it and all of a sudden the reality hits that YOU NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THE THINGS YOU BOUGHT! Your sin will always cost more than you ever wanted to pay!!!
When you open your life to sin, one sin begets another sin, and you end up doing things that you would never imagine doing. Never forget, sin is a choice and always costs more than you ever wanted to pay. Never forget, sin is a choice and always costs more than you ever wanted to pay.
One of the beautiful things about the Bible is that it does not hide the sins of even those men who did great things for God. It documents the consequences of their sins, showing that even those of great faith, who do great things for God, must pay the price when they make the choice to sin.
I love you and care about you so much. I am warning you that sin is not free . . . it costs! I am sure we can all look back at the sins we chose to commit in our own life and see the high price we paid for those sins. Don't forget, sin is a choice. You CHOOSE to sin. The next time you are confronted with the choice to sin or not, remember, it is not a matter of if you will pay a price for your sin, only a matter of how much of a price you will pay.
In the end, it is never worth it. Whatever temporary benefit you received from your choice to sin is quickly replaced by the permanent scar that sin will always leave!!!
I will be praying for you today. Praying that you choose NOT to sin as you are confronted with that choice each and every day. It simply is not worth it. Also, never forget that you don't sin in a vacuum. There is a ripple effect from sin that touches many innocent people.
When you choose to sin, it is like the performer on the old Ed Sullivan Show who would spin the plates on 8 poles. He would get all 8 plates spinning at once then have to go back to the first one and get it going again then the next one and the next. Eventually, all 8 plates would end up crashing to the floor broken into many pieces. You can only sin so long before you have to deal with the consequences of your sin.
My word to you today is simple. You have choices to make every day. You choose to sin or obey God. Let me leave you with the last part of Romans 6:23, "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The choice you make is literally one of life and death. The choice to sin brings death, the choice to follow the Lord brings life!!!
In His love and service,
Your friend and co-laborer in His work,
Bill Keller
