***CHRISTMAS FOR SINGLE MOTHERS! After much prayer and despite still needing $130,000 to end this year with all of our financial needs current, I have taken a huge step of faith and am announcing that as we have done most years since Liveprayer began over 25 years ago, we will be helping out single mothers this Christmas. We will be helping 30 single mothers with a gift of $200 so they can insure their children have something under the tree and a nice Christmas meal. As in past years, all I ask is that these single mothers we help go to church with their children on Christmas! I never ask people to do something I don’t do myself, and am giving into my personal need by taking care of 10 of the 30. If God is leading you to help me take care of any of the other 20, just make sure you mark on your $200 credit card or check gift that it is for the Single Mothers Christmas. What I need is for those who want to be considered, send me a short email with your name, address, and phone number. I need to know how many children you have and their ages. I admit so much of the time I take most of them for granted, but today, I want to acknowledge Your love for me and the many blessings You bestow upon me each and every day. It is easy to say Thank You, but more important to Thank You in how I live my life each day. Give me Your strength to live my life pleasing and acceptable to You during this day. ***THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: What is wrong with our society when a true hero is ignored and true evil is idolized? This week a jury of his peers in NYC found ex-Marine Daniel Penny, who was white, not guilty of all charges in the death of a mentally ill career criminal and drug user Jordan Neely, who was black, on the subway last year. Neely was labeled as one of the “Top 50” homeless people in NYC who were most of need of help. On May 1st of 2023 Neely boarded a NY subway car and was clearly having a mental meltdown as he threatened to kill the passengers on that car and said he didn’t care if he went to prison for the rest of his life. He continued yelling and becoming physically threatening to the half dozen passengers in the car, when Penny got behind him and took him to the ground in a chokehold. Penny was assisted by two other male passengers, one of who was black. After 6 minutes the subway car stopped and the police boarded as Penny released the hold. NEELY WAS STILL ALIVE AT THAT POINT! The police gave Neely NARCAN which is used to reverse an opioid overdose as well as chest compressions but he died soon after. An autopsy revealed Neely had a synthetic cannabinoid called K2 in his system and all of his organs were riddled with Sickle Cell. Records showed that Neely had an extensive criminal record of 42 arrests, many involving violence. He was actually out on bond from punching a 64 year old lady in the face and breaking her orbital bone. DANIEL PENNY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED, BUT BY DUE TO THE FACT NEELY WAS BLACK AND PENNY WHITE NY DA ALVIN BRAGG CHARGED HIM WITH 2ND DEGREE MANSLAUGHTER WHICH COULD HAVE SENT PENNY TO PRISON FOR 19 YEARS! Thankfully the jury could never agree on the manslaughter charge and it was dropped, and they acquitted him of a lesser charge. In the aftermath of the acquittal, Black Lives Matter New York tried to gin up racial division but there were no protests, no marches, no looting, and no violence. Praise God! Sadly however, Penny was not treated as a hero but as a killer by many in the media and on social media. The reality is if your mother, wife, sister, girlfriend, or friend was in the subway car when Neely entered, you would be thankful a man like Daniel Penny was there to protect them! Again, Neely was a career criminal and drug addict who suffered from major mental illness issues. Daniel Penny saved innocent people on that subway car from being hurt or even killed as they each testified at his trial. DANIEL PENNY IS A TRUE HERO!

On the other hand you have a cold blooded murderer Luigi Mangione who executed in cold blood United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside of a midtown Manhattan hotel early on the morning of December 4th. The 26 year old Mangione grew up in one of most prominent and wealthy families in Baltimore. His grandfather, the family patriarch generated their initial wealth in real estate that they expanded over the years to include a network of nursing homes, country clubs, and radio stations. His cousin has been a Republican state delegate since 2019. Mangione attended a prestigious all-male prep school where was the class valedictorian in 2016. He went on to attend Ivy League University of Pennsylvania where he earned an undergraduate degree and masters in engineering. So how does a member of a prominent, wealthy family who is clearly extremely intelligent become a cold blooded murderer? Over the years Mangione became a climate activist, adopted anti-capitalist views, and a fan of “unibomber” Ted Kaczynski. While Mangione was able to escape NY after the murder, he was eventually spotted and arrested at a McDonalds in Altoona, PA. He was in possession of the gun he used to kill Thompson, cash, multiple fake IDs, a passport, and a 3 page manifesto that was a screed against the evils of the health insurance industry. It was later learned Mangione had stopped engaging with family and friends for the last year after he suffered a back injury surfing that required surgery. In his recovery Mangione began using psychedelic drugs for the pain. An interesting side note is that Nancy Pelosi’s father Thomas D’Alesandro was the mayor of Baltimore from 1947-1959. There was a friendly relationship between the D’Alesandro family and Mangione family as both Pelosi’s father and Mangione’s grandfather were reputed to have ties to organized crime. In the aftermath of Mangione killing in cold blood the healthcare CEO and his subsequent capture, he has become an internet heartthrob amongst females on the internet. This is not a new phenomenon. Evil killers like Ted Bundy, the Menendez brothers, Scott Peterson, and others attracted attention from women, hundreds seeking to marry them despite the fact they would never leave prison. The sad reality is that there has also been a very real and vocal element on social media that has been supportive of Mangione. They believe the healthcare and insurance industry is so corrupt that killing the CEO of a major company was fair game! People have set up GoFundMe accounts for Mangione that were since disabled as well as contacting his attorney to help pay Mangione’s legal bills. Other healthcare and insurance companies have scrubbed their websites of pictures and info of their top execs in fear of copycats. Popping up around New York City in the past few days have been wanted posters with the pictures of top insurance company execs. THE PRO MANGIONE POSTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA ARE EXTENSIVE AND HIS SUPPORT IS STRONG! My guess is probably 30% of the general public is supporting Mangione and his criminal actions which is very disturbing to say the least.

So in these two men, Penny and Mangione, we have clear and convincing evidence that our society has some real problems when a true hero is ignored, even chastised for his actions, while a cold blooded murderer is idolized and receiving massive support!

Jesus said to "pick up the cross and follow Me". For Jesus, the cross He bore was the sins of mankind. God has not asked any of us to bear such a burden, but we each do have a cross we are asked to bear. For some of you, it may be a marriage that is in trouble. Many are bearing a cross of physical affliction. Some are bearing a cross of financial difficulties. We each have a cross that God has asked us to bear.

How we bear that cross each day becomes the challenge we face. Let me give you some insight I have gleaned from the Word of God in regard to this. First is having a right attitude. God promised not to give you more than you can handle. Trust Him. He loves you and knows you better than you know yourself. Second, realize that you can't do anything in your own strength.

Oftentimes the cross we bear keeps us humble and constantly reminded that it is not in our strength that we live, but in His. Lastly, give thanks for the cross God has given you. Give thanks? The Bible tells us to give thanks in ALL things. That includes those things that we may not be very thankful for. Don't forget my friend, nothing happens in your life that God doesn't know about or allow to happen. So yes, give thanks even for your burdens, because God has a plan and is doing things you cannot even see or understand.

The best advice I can give you today to help you carry that cross God has given you, is to stay close to Him. Be in prayer and the Word each day. Be in church and fellowship with other Christians. Find ways to serve God. All of these things working together keep you focused on Him. The farther you get from God, the heavier that cross will become. It is through carrying the cross each day that we become perfected and more like Him.

Rejoice today, carry your cross with thanksgiving, know that God is walking with you every step of the way!

I love you and care about you so much. Know that when you get weary, when your cross becomes too heavy, I am here to help you. God has given me an incredible blessing to be able to be here each day for you...to pray, to stand in the gap, to counsel you through those difficult times in life we all go through.
