DAILY DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY MARCH 22, 2023
(Ephesians 5:15-16)
IS YOUR DONATION BEING RETURNED? We have worked with the postal service and found them unnerved over what we told them! They are 100% on our side to get our mail to us as they have for 24 years! I recently heard from several donors who were wondering if we had changed addresses. The U.S. Postal Service returned to them donations they had mailed, but the envelope now bore a USPS-marked notification that Liveprayer Church had moved without leaving any forwarding address. Our donors were confused because they knew we had not moved! I alert you to this occurrence because Liveprayer donations over the past three months are down by a noticeable amount. This potential (and illegal!) mail-tampering is no new tactic. A good friend of ours who is active in the pro-life ministry was nearly put out of business by a U.S. postal worker who researched what the organization did, intercepted its mail, and then marked it “undeliverable.” That postal worker was a stealth, woke warrior for the powers of evil. We at Liveprayer know that what we do does not escape the notice of our enemies — both seen and unseen. ***THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: Penn State and NCAA champion wrestler Aaron Brooks called Muhammad a false prophet while professing his Christian faith. San Jose Sharks goalie James Reimer refused to take part in pregame warmups Saturday night, saying the team's decision to wear Pride-themed jerseys in support of the LGBTQ community violated his religious beliefs. As you can imagine the liberal sports media lost their minds over these two men taking a public stand for their faith. To be honest, ESPN and the rest of the sports media are just as liberal as CNN and MSNBC! As a lifetime sports fan, I quit watching sports programming other than the actual games. I used to sometimes listen to sports talk radio in the car, but gave that up also. Outside of the games themselves, so many sports shows have become about pushing a liberal, globalist political agenda. After winning the NCAA championship in his weight class, Brooks was giving praise to the Lord. In his comments he stated that Jesus was the only name by which men can be saved, and mentioned that Muhammad couldn’t save you because he was a false prophet. Brooks is 100% correct! The sports media suggested he get with Muslim students at Penn State so he could be “educated” about Islam. I agree, but Brooks needs to get with the Muslim students, not so HE can be educated, but so he can educate the Muslim students that Islam is a false religion and there is only ONE TRUTH, the Bible, and ONE NAME by which men are saved, JESUS! Sharks goalie Reimer simply stated that as a man living his Christian faith each day, it would be a violation of that faith to promote a lifestyle the Bible calls a sin. Of course that brought out the normal vitriol directed at Reimer, calling him a homophobe, a hater, a bigot, NONE of which is true. As a true Christian I am certain Reimer has no hatred in his heart for people who choose to engage in sinful, unnatural and unhealthy sex with people of the same sex. He simply isn’t going to be used as a pawn to promote that sinful lifestyle. Brooks and Reimer both showed guts as they publicly shared their faith in Christ. Sadly, the expected backlash is why more people don’t take such a public stand whether they are an accomplished athlete or talking around the water cooler at work. Question. Why are the minions of satan so bold and fearless pushing the lies of satan, while God’s people are so meek and fearful when we possess God’s Truth? Pray about that question.

Each fall, fans of college and professional football await with great anticipation to see how their team will do that season. People will actually be scheduling their lives around going to, and watching football thru the end of January. Sports has always been part of my life and something I've loved since I was very young.
One day several years ago, I began to challenge myself in regard to how much time I spent going to games, watching games on television, reading about them in newspapers and magazines. I began to count how much time I was spending each year on sports.
Now, I am not going to tell you that sports are bad or that they are evil. The point I want you to understand is that I think it is important how much of our time and how much of our resources are devoted to the things that we like in this life, like sports, versus our eternal relationship with God. Sports for me, whatever hobby you may have, are an enjoyable part of this life. There is nothing wrong with having hobbies and interests, they make this life enjoyable.
Putting into perspective the short time we are on this earth against an eternity with God if we know Jesus, made me realize that I should be devoting at least as much time to my eternal relationship as I do my earthly interests which cease when this life is over. How many don't have time each day to read their Bible or pray, but have time to sit in front of the television for hours?
Please hear me. Enjoy the wholesome things that this world has to offer. Do the things that interest you. But please, don't neglect the most important part of your life, your personal relationship with Christ. Your life begins to unravel quickly when you are out of fellowship with Him. You start to make poor decisions when you stop reading your Bible every day, praying every day, going to church, and spending that quiet time with the Lord.
All I want you to do is keep things in perspective and make sure that you spend as much time caring for your eternal interests as your earthly ones!!!

Don't forget to let your friends and family know that we are here, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to stand with them and beside them in those tough times. God is still answering prayers, and He is still in the blessing business!
Enjoy football, or whatever your personal interest may be. However, never forget that your time with the Lord each day is the most important thing that you will do that day. When this short journey is over, THAT is what will follow you into eternity!
