A new way to look at the immigration issue! and, Thanksgiving is just 6 weeks away!
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY OCTOBER 15, 2021
(John 3:16; Romans 10:10; Ephesians 2:8-9)
***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to get through this day and the challenges that I will be facing today. Guide me, strengthen me, and give me wisdom as I make choices throughout this day. Please watch over my family and those I love in this world, and keep them safe. I love You Lord, and depend upon You each moment of each day. Bless me as I go through the day, living my life for Your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!
***THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: The holidays are upon us and many will be with family members who sadly have been brainwashed and bought hook, link, and sinker the lies of the corporate media about the immigration issue. Let me give you today a really good way to talk about immigration since I deal daily with people who say “a true Christian would be for the immigrant and not working to stop them from having a better life.” You have a home. You worked hard to acquire your home. It is legally yours. It is where you raise and care for your family. You’ve prayed for God’s blessings over your home and you talk to the Lord, read and study His Word there. You are proud of your home and do your best to make it look nice on the inside and out. Over the years you have been able to buy nice furniture, electronics, decorations to make it your own. From your kitchen, to your bathrooms, to your garage, your home is a place of refuge from the rest of the outside world. You have invested in good locks for your doors and windows and an alarm system to keep you and your family safe. YOU HAVE INVESTED MUCH TIME, ENERGY, AND EMOTIONS INTO YOUR HOME! Let’s say one day the town where your home is located decides that you can no longer have any doors or windows. You also can’t have an alarm system. Your town makes a public declaration that people from other places are welcome to come live there even though they don’t have a home or any connection to your town. All of a sudden you look outside and strange people you have never seen before are walking up and down your street. Pretty soon, a few of them stop at your house. They begin to come onto your yard, a few go into your garage, still others walk into your home. After a while, more of these strangers are in your house. The next thing you know they are sitting on your furniture, they are eating the food out of your refrigerator and cupboards. Still others are using your bathroom, several are in your shower. You walk into your bedroom and there are strangers sleeping on your bed. YOU CALL THE POLICE BUT THEY TELL YOU THEY CAN’T DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU. IN THE MIDST OF THIS SCENE YOU ARE HOLDING YOUR HEAD IN YOUR HANDS ASKING HOW COULD THIS BE HAPPENING? WHY DID MY TOWN INVITE THESE STRANGERS TO COME HERE? You look in your garage and notice your car is gone. You hear a scream and run to your back yard where a stranger is sexually assaulting your daughter. In your kitchen you see your son at the table snorting something up his nose. YOU TRUSTED YOUR TOWN TO LOOK AFTER YOUR BEST INTERESTS. AFTERALL, YOU PAY YOUR TAXES TO EVERY YEAR BUT THEY HAVE TOTALLY LET YOU DOWN. GOD, WHAT IS HAPPENING? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? YOUR WHOLE LIFE YOU HAVE BEEN KIND TO STRANGERS, YOU HAVE HELPED PEOPLE LESS FORTUNATE THAN YOU, YOU HAVEN’T HOARDED GOD’S BLESSINGS! YOU HAVE WORKED HARD, FOLLOWED THE LAWS, AND NOW YOU ARE WATCHING LIFE AS YOU KNOW IT BEING FOREVER CHANGED LITERALLY OVERNIGHT!!! My friend, you may think this is hyperbole but sadly it is not. This is our nation as I type these words today. This nightmare is the very real life of so many of our citizens. THIS NIGHTMARE DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN...IT WAS FOISTED ON OUR NATION ON PURPOSE!!!

Thanksgiving is just 6 weeks from yesterday. I received an email yesterday from a woman that I get quite often. This dear woman was racked with guilt after one of her best friends died. Her friend had never expressed much interest in God or the Bible and most likely died in her sins and her soul is lost for all eternity. Faced with the likelihood her friend is in hell forever, the woman was bemoaning the fact that she had passed on numerous opportunities to witness to her, especially in the final months of her life as she battled with cancer.
She recited for me all the various excuses she had come up with for not sharing Christ with her friend. However, now that her friend was gone, probably in hell for eternity, none of those excuses for not making the effort to tell her friend how to know Christ as her Savior seemed very good any longer. I tried to console this woman, reminding her that the decision to accept or reject Christ is one each person has to make for themselves. She couldn't make that choice for her friend.
Sadly, I get emails like this every day from people who are dealing with the guilt of not taking the time to tell a family member or friend about the Lord and His love for them. As you prepare to be with your family and friends during this Thanksgiving, I want to challenge you today to take the time, make the effort, to share the Gospel with those who don't know Christ as their personal Savior. Remember, you can't save anyone, that is not your job. What is your job is to tell them how they can be saved. What they choose to do is ultimately up to them, but God is calling you to be His vessel to bring them the message of everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ.
I realize that for many people, sharing the Gospel with your family members, with your friends, can be difficult. Ultimately, you are afraid of their rejection. Remember, they are NOT rejecting you, they are rejecting the Lord. How can you claim to love a person, knowing full well if they died today they would spend eternity in hell, when you have the words of everlasting life to help them escape that eternal horror and find their rest and peace with the God who created them and loves them so much? If you really love a person, you will love them enough to tell them about Jesus!
Listen my friend, the cold hard reality of this life is that one day we will each die. The Bible tells us that tomorrow is promised to none of us. Each day is literally a gift from God. Death is final. One moment you are alive, the next moment you are dead. This life as we know it is over that quick. As soon as you take that last breath you are standing before God. In that instant the ONLY thing that matters is your relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have rejected Him and die in your sins, the Bible says that you will be cast into everlasting darkness, forever separated from God your Creator. If you know Jesus as your Savior, you will be ushered into God's presence and dwell with Him for ever and ever.
*Each person who lives this life will die and stand before God at that moment. This includes your mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, husband, wife, grandmother, grandfather, grandson, granddaughter, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, cousin, and any other family member, as well as your friends, neighbors, those you work with, go to school with, recreate with, and encounter during your day-to-day life. I pray that you will never be able to look at a person in your life again without thinking about the fact they will die one day and have to stand before God. Will they be ready for that moment? Do you care about them enough to ask them if they are ready for that moment?
Let me give you an easy way to share the Gospel with those you will be with this Thanksgiving. A short but powerful presentation of the Gospel with an invitation to accept the Lord is on this video clip I created: https://liveprayer.com/salvation-plan.cfm This is an easy way for you to share the hope and love of Christ with your family members and friends this Thanksgiving, giving them the opportunity to make Christ their own.
I love you and care about you so much. I know many will be traveling this Thanksgiving and I pray for traveling mercies as the Lord blesses your journey. I pray that God will richly bless the time you have with your family and friends in these coming days. I know many will be with people you only see during Thanksgiving and Christmas. May the Lord allow this to be a very special Thanksgiving as you spend it with those you love and care about. The holidays are always a special time in our lives and I pray that this is your best Thanksgiving ever.
I will also be praying that you remember what Thanksgiving is all about. A time to give thanks to God for all of His many blessings. Make the time to get to church this Sunday, even if you haven't been for a while. Use this opportunity to invite those family members and friends you are with to join you. Above all, pray and seek the Lord for His wisdom and boldness in allowing you to make it a priority this Thanksgiving to use the opportunity you are with your family and friends to tell them about Jesus and His unconditional love for them.
I will be praying for you as you are faithful and obedient to tell those in your life about the Lord and that God will prepare the hearts and minds of those you share His love with to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. What they choose to do with Jesus is a decision they have to make, but telling them about Jesus is a decision YOU have to make!
In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
