Daily Devotional for Friday August 28, 2020

God is faithful!!!

(Isaiah 25:1)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, I know I have only one life, one life to live for You. This is my moment in human history. Please Lord, let me make the most if it. Use my life to do great things for You as I surrender it afresh to You each morning. When I take my last breath, let there be no regrets, no sadness, that I didn't use my life fully for Your Glory! In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!

***THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Hong Kong. After the British lease for Hong Kong was up in 1997, the Chinese government in Beijing entered into a 50 years lease with Hong Kong for them to self-govern. In 2047, Hong Kong would than come under the governance of the Chinese authorities in mainland China. The ruling communist regime has decided it no longer wanted to wait until 2047 and began to exert its’ influence over the people Hong Kong. This is what began the months of protests late last year as the Hong Kong citizens rose up in opposition. Those protests died the first of the year due to the breakout of the Wuhan Flu. The communist ruling party decided to use the health crisis as their opening to simply ignore the treaty and take control of Hong Kong. While there still may be some protests, the fact is there is really nothing the Hong Kong people can do since they have no ability to fight back against the military might of the communist regime. One of the freedoms Hong Kong has enjoyed has been the freedom to worship. There is a large and vibrant Christian community in Hong Kong. Please take some time today to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Hong Kong since like on the mainline, the communist regime will soon begin persecuting the church of Jesus Christ. Labeling Christianity as subversive to the government like they have on the mainland, will be the plan to dismantle the church in Hong Kong. While we can’t forget our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ on mainland China, we must add the Chinese Christians in Hong Kong to our prayers as they are going to come under the iron first of China’s communist government.

"Bill, Thank you for your thoughts and for caring. Every night when I kneel with my sons to pray, you are lifted to God. You have been for so long that when these sons pray out loud, they speak to God of you by name. I know God will bless your ministry in the coming year, it is the only real hope I see!"

"Bill, I just want to thank you! I've known who God and Jesus are, but it was just asked last night when was I born again. I have been struggling when I came across your video sharing the Plan of Salvation and I accepted Him into my life by faith. Now I can say when I was born again without hesitating. Thank you for being a light in this dark world for the lost and hurting!!!"

God is faithful! My word for you today is that GOD IS FAITHFUL! I know many of you are hurting today, going through a difficult time, but my word for you today is that GOD IS FAITHFUL! As you pray for me and make the sacrifice to help me continue God's work here at Liveprayer, so I pray for and stand with you. The Bible teaches we are to bear each other’s burdens!

I am most blessed of men to be able to wake up each morning and share the Truth of God's Word with so many around the world, bring His Truth into the marketplace outside the four walls of the church, pray for tens of thousands daily who need God's touch in their life, and lead lost souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The fact is, I have only been able to do that these past 21 years by the grace of God who has given me the health, presence of mind, spiritual guidance, and passion to wake up every day for the past 7,665 days and do what God has called me to do with my life because of friends like YOU!

I need your prayers and help today! We are down to the final days of August. So far, $5,000 of the $55,000 monthly has come in leaving the final $50,000. That is $50,000 to end our 21st year of ministry online with all of our financial obligations current! OUR GOD IS ABLE!!! AMEN!!!

Over these past 21 years, God has always used several special people each month who have been richly blessed, often in the 11th hour, to insure the needs of His work here were taken care of. I will be in prayer today, trusting by faith that as God has done for the past 21 years, He will move on the hearts of those who have the ability to step up and help me continue to bring His Truth to the marketplace, pray for people in their time of need, and bring the lost to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!!! HE IS ABLE!!!

Will you help me today?

After writing the Daily Devotional every day for 21 years now, I already know when I am going to catch lots of grief from what I write. This is going to be one of those days so I am prepared for it. Let me start, today, by asking you a fair question. Is there something in this world that you love more than God?

I have no doubt some people will pause as they think of the love they have for their spouse, for their parents, and their children. As much as we may love those special people God blesses us with during our brief journey through life, our love for God MUST always be first. This is a truth most people are able to understand and accept.

More to the point, however, is there some THING in this world that you love more than God? We say we love God, we say God is first in our life, but is He really? Let me be a bit more specific. Is God first in your life, ahead of your career? Is God first in your life, ahead of your hobbies and special interests? Be careful now, we know what the RIGHT answers to these questions are, but are they the TRUE answers?

Even though I know you don't want to, let's go a bit deeper. Does your work or career take priority over God in your normal day to day life? Do you invest as much time each week into God as you do your hobbies and special interests? One of the profound statements Jesus made was, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Since that is a great measuring stick of where our heart is, how much of your treasure goes to God as opposed to the pleasures of this world?

Listen, PLEASE do not misunderstand what my message to you today is. I am NOT saying that your career is not important. After all, it was God who gave you the gifts and talents you have to be successful in your career, it was God who opened the doors for you to be where you are at, and it is God who gives you favor and blessings each day in your career.

I am also NOT saying that your hobbies and special interests are not important. Again, it was God who gave you the desires and passions for the things you enjoy in this life. Nor am I saying you should not use some of the resources God has entrusted to you to enjoy the abundance of this life.

What I AM saying is that we have to take inventory of our life from time to time and ensure that we are keeping God first at all times, in all things. We can fall into patterns at times and slowly ease God out of our day-to-day life. Not consciously, but often without even realizing it put other things in our life ahead of God. This is a subtle trap of the enemy since once God is no longer first in your life, you are wide open to be attacked. This becomes an open door for satan to enter your life and harm you.

I love you and care about you so much. It is out of that love that I am sending you this warning today. Simply take a moment and ask yourself the tough questions in regard to where God fits in your life. Is He first in ALL areas of your life? Don't play games with yourself, since this is for YOUR benefit, not Gods. This is to protect YOU from giving the enemy any room to operate in your life.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will never forget that God MUST be first in your life at all times, in all things. We can never allow any person, our career, our hobbies or interests to become more important than God. He has got to be our first priority and our first love at all times.

God gives us special people to share this life with, He gives us gifts and talents to use in our careers, and it is God who gives us passions and desires for the things we enjoy in this life. We must never fall into the trap of loving the things of this world more than we love God.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
