What will happen in 2020! (Part Two of Two)

(Jeremiah 29:11)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, as this new year unfolds, help us to never forget that tomorrow is promised to none of us. Each day is truly a gift from You! Let us focus each day on the special gift that day is and not take even ONE DAY for granted, since it is a day like none other and once it is over will never come back. During each day You bless us with Lord, let us make sure to focus on making our life count for You in some way. In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!!!

***THE DAILY LIVEPRAYER TV NUGGET: Grinder is a gay dating app where men who choose to engage in perverted sex with other men use this technology to meet for the sole purpose of having sex. In many cases they have no idea who the other person is other than a “name.” Recently in Michigan, two men hooked up for anonymous sex and in the end, one decided to kill his “date” and proceeded to eat his genitals. In past years, this would have been a huge media story if for no other reason than the sensationalism of it. NOT IN 2020! Why? The media wants to protect those who choose to engage in such sexual perversions despite the public safety such sexual hook-ups are no matter if you are a man or a woman. The reality is, such sexual deviancy and perversion is fairly common in our culture today, yes even when it ends up in death, and people just aren’t as interested. WE ARE EVEN NUMB TO SEXUAL DEVIANCY INVOLVING DEATH AND CANNIBALISM! I am not sharing this with you this morning to shock you, but to help you understand how far into the cultural gutter we have sunk!!!

What will happen in 2020! (Part Two of Two)

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

As we are in the opening days of 2020, I wanted to take time today to share with you my thoughts on what this new year may have in store for us. I AM NOT CLAIMING ANY PROPHETIC UTTERANCES! Dealing with a worldwide audience literally every day for over 20 years now, I do have a very good feel for what is going on in our world, our nation, in every aspect of life, and what it means in the context of our faith.

There is no exact order of what I am sharing with you, and I am not going into great depth at this time since these are all things that I expect to be happening over the course of 2020. I am certain as key issues rise in importance, I will dedicate entire Daily Devotionals to that issue and go in much more depth at that time.

Please pray over these words and keep them throughout the year to see what things are actually happening, what things are still to unfold, and no doubt some issues that I didn’t address at all.

-Church: As 2020 unfolds, in the United States we will see a further rise of the “fake church” I have spoken about during 2019. These are churches who claim to be the true followers of Jesus Christ, yet operate in complete rebellion to our Lord and His Word! We saw what is in store as during the final days of 2019 we got word of the split in the once great United Methodist Church over gay marriage and the sin of homosexuality. The good news in 2020 is that those churches who truly are following the example of a New Testament church, those faithful congregations will flourish as people become even more hungry for real hope, real truth, and real answers!!!

-Evangelism: Unfortunately, evangelism will continue to be far, far down on the list of priorities in most churches. ALL churches and ministries declare their desire to “save the lost.” However, saying it and using their various resources to only reach out to people who are already Christians tells the story of their lack of commitment to evangelism!

-Persecution: In a culture that continues to spiral downward spiritually, there will be more and more persecution, and more and more persecution involving actual violence against Christians. We will still be nowhere near what our brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world face, but I believe persecution will be good for the US church. It will force people who are playing games to flee, and embolden those who are true followers of our Lord!

-Worldwide church: Three words, growth, darkness, and persecution. The church is growing in South America, Africa, various Asian countries, and Iran of all places! Amen! The darkness in Europe continues, though there are some cracks of light in places like Hungary. I also believe with the election of Boris Johnson and Brexit finally happening, England may begin to see a spiritual renewal. Sadly, the real persecution of Christians in several Muslim dominant countries in Africa and Asia, North Korean, India, and China continues to be even worse during 2020.

-Culture: The overall theme of our culture in 2020 will be a further entrenchment of the God-denying, Christian-hating majority who will continue to work to silence, marginalize, and hopefully destroy Christians. The culture will continue to push its’ Godless agenda including the continued normalizing of sexual deviancy. Look for every type of perverted “marriage” to explode in 2020 and a deepening acceptance of pedophilia. It will be in that deepening darkness that followers of Christ will have the opportunity to shine our lights bright for the Lord. OUR LIGHT SHINES THE BRIGHTEST IN THE DARKNESS!!!

-Culture of death: While we are seeing real meaningful victories and actual measured movement in the area of abortion as Roe turns 47 this month, we will be seeing the expanded movement to take life at the other end of the spectrum. Doctor assisted suicide and euthanasia will explode throughout the nation in 2020 as killing old people will become much more palatable and accepted as the months of 2020 go by.

-Unprecedented filth and crime: What began in 2019 that shocked people, will become more normative in 2020. Major cities and towns across the nation will continue to accept the incredible rise in the homeless population and the public health issues it represents. We will also be seeing across the nation a relaxing in prosecuting crimes such as drugs, prostitution, theft, and other “low level” offenses. There will also continue to be a push to do away with cash bonds, letting people charged with crimes back on the street instead of being held pending trial if they can’t secure their court appearance and minimize the threat they may pose to the community with a bond. There will also be a continued move to let people out of prison early. ALL of these “criminal justice reforms” will do nothing but make our communities less safe for the citizens.

-Suicide and drug overdose: A byproduct of a Godless culture is hopelessness. Hopelessness is the driver to addictions of all kinds and ultimately suicide. Unfortunately, the manifestation of our Godless society in 2020 will be the continued epidemic of deaths by drug overdoses and other forms of suicide!

-Mental Health: I still claim as I have for 2 decades that the number one non-faith cultural issue in the United States is the absolute lack of a legitimate mental health infrastructure. I am very sad to say with virtual certainty that the issues which destroyed what infrastructure we had starting in the ‘60s still exist, and yet another year will pass with ZERO done to address this most critical cultural problem!

I love and care about you so much! Sadly, despite a roaring economy and a mature, advanced society, raw violence will be seen throughout the United States in 2020. We will be witnessing the manifestations of the spiritual decline that has occurred over the last 50 years. Evil will always rise up to occupy the space goodness once did!

REMEMBER, OUR LIGHT SHINES THE BRIGHTEST IN THE DARKNESS!!!

Never forget my friend, the Bible tells us Jesus is coming back in the “twinkling of an eye!” We often forget or simply don’t really believe this Biblical Truth. So, while only God knows the exact hour and minute, we are commanded to be prepared. While so much that will happen during 2020 is beyond our ability to control, our personal relationship with the Lord is 100% within our power!!! AMEN!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
