Recent major events and news stories in the United States and around the world shaping the culture we live in! Part Two of Three

(John 15:19)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, open my eyes to see this world clearly, and show me what You want me to do to serve You in these times we live. You and You alone will have the last word Lord. Let me see this lost world through Your eyes and with Your heart and help to lead the lost and hurting to find Your hope, strength, and peace! In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!!!

Part Two of Three

“...but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world...” John 15:19

The world we are living in for this season. Today is Part One of a very special 3-PART Daily Devotional series on recent major events and news stories in the United States and around the world that are shaping the culture we live in today.

It is critical for Christians to clearly understand the culture around us so that we can be the Lord’s agents of change as He has commanded us to be. May the Lord guide us each day by His Spirit as we faithfully serve Him!!!

*Mental illness is an issue that this nation MUST begin to address in a serious way. It can no longer be ignored since it is truly an epidemic! Mental health professionals state that 1 out of 5 children have some sort of mental illness, and few EVER receive any sort of treatment!

*A little over 10 years ago, I began talking about robots that would soon be replacing human workers in many industries. We are now seeing that occur even to a larger extent than I had imagined. One use of robots that is already happening, is using robots as “companions” for the elderly. As with most of the advancement in the use of robots, Japan is using robots to interact with older people as a “friend.”

This is an issue I have written about in several Daily Devotionals, as robots are being used as an interviewer for employment, to dispense medical advice, and to counsel people on different issues. Yes, there is actually going to be churches in the very near future with a robot “pastor!”

*A common these I have been sharing with you over the 20 years of Liveprayer is the fact that currently in 2019 we have the better percentage of the past 2 generations who have never been to church. Studies are now being done by different organizations that confirm church membership is at an all-time low in the United States.

*A Canadian father was fined $55,000 by the government for “mis-gendering” his son. Mis-gendering is not correctly identifying a person by the gender with which they identify. Mis-gendering is an offense that is a violation of Twitter’s rules of conduct and allows them to close your account. Please understand that this “offense” is going to be recognized in many different settings in the United States soon such as in the workplace!

As I have shared in many Daily Devotionals on this issue, a person who “identifies” as the gender opposite of the one God created them as, is dealing with a mental illness even though the World Health Organization just removed “gender identity disorder” from their list of mental health issues!

Former Olympic decathlon champion BRUCE Jenner was born a male, is a male, and will always be a male regardless of what name he calls himself or what type of surgery he may undergo. Bruce Jenner is a MALE. Bruce Jenner is a HE and always has been and will be a HE!

*More states are turning to marijuana to generate income to try and deal with decades of fiscal irresponsibility. All states now offer some form of gambling, more each year are literally becoming drug dealers, and some are in the process of legalizing prostitution. How sad is it that crimes the state used to put people in jail for, they are now legally engaging in!!!

*When you have the favor of God upon you, NOTHING and NOBODY can take you down! Chik-fil-A is now the third largest fast food restaurant. This is despite Buffalo and San Antonio closing the Chik-fil-A restaurants operating in their airports because they donate to organizations like the Salvation Army and other groups these cities disagree with. Many colleges have refused to allow a Chik-fil-A restaurant on their campus since the owners of Chik-fil-A believe in Biblical marriagte!

God has honored the faith of the Cathey family, and that they have refused to compromised their Christian faith. One huge example is that they have always CLOSED on Sundays, just as God rested on the 7th day!

*The magazine Teen Vogue is nothing but pornography geared towards teen age girls. In addition to promoting the killing of innocent babies, this magazine recently featured a huge article stating that prostitution and other sex worker jobs were legitimate and honorable.

*The number one name for boys in Germany last year was “Mohammed!”

*Just as many states have legalized “vice businesses” like gambling, dealing drugs, and prostitution, many are now legalizing not just the slaughter of innocent babies in the womb, but killing babies who survived an abortion attempt and were delivered alive. To be consistent, they should actually let the late-term abortion monster from Philadelphia, Kermit Gosnell, out of prison since that was the practice he was incarcerated for. Also, Dr. “death” Jack Kevorkian spent many years in prison for helping people take their own life. There is now a growing number of states that have legalized doctor assisted suicide. Even though Kevorkian is now deceased, they should pardon him posthumously!

*Today, we celebrate an historic event that changed the course of history. It was on June 6,1944 that 75,200 troops from Great Britain and Canada and 57,500 troops from the United States stormed the beaches of Normandy on the northern coast of France. Apx. 4,500 US and Allied troops lost their lives on that day that began the liberation of Europe and the fall of Nazi Germany!

President Roosevelt and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill offered up public prayers to the God of the Bible as they led their nations on this historic day and to victory in World War 2!

This is a challenge to stay educated about the world we live in but are not part of, in order to the best ambassadors of Christ we can be as we share His love and hope with this lost and hurting world.
