Recent major events and news stories in the United States and around the world shaping the culture we live in! Part Three of Three

(John 15:19)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to never forget how each life is from You and precious. In this culture that puts little value on a human life, let ME stand for You and the fact ALL LIFE IS FROM GOD! May I find courage and strength to never waiver or fail to speak up for this most precious of all gifts! In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN!

Part Three of Three

“...but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world...” John 15:19

The world we are living in for this season. Today is the 3rd and final part of a very special 3-PART Daily Devotional series on recent major events and news stories in the United States and around the world that are shaping the culture we live in today.

It is critical for Christians to clearly understand the culture around us so that we can be the Lord’s agents of change as He has commanded us to be. May the Lord guide us each day by His Spirit as we faithfully serve Him!!!

*Every day at Liveprayer we get numerous emails from people who have had a pet pass away. It is always a sad time for a family when their dog, or cat, or bird, or fish, or whatever type of pet they had passes away. For many people, pets are a special part of their life. The death of a pet can be a very traumatic time for many people.

The one word of council I always share with people who have lost a pet is that after a week or so goes by, start praying about getting another pet. The new pet will never replace the one that was lost, nor is it intended to. People who are used to having a pet in their life usually move on quicker once they have a new pet. Knowing the amount of emails we get every month on this issue, I thought it would a good opportunity to share what I have found over these many years to be an answer that has helped many move on after the death of a beloved pet.

*With Joe Biden now officially in the race along with 19 others for the nomination to represent the Democratic Party in the 2020 Presidential election, it is really sad to see where they stand on the political issues of the day that are also spiritual issues. They are unanimous in their support for the killing of innocent babies. They are unanimous in their support for the many forms of sexual perversion that are now accepted in our culture as normative and acceptable.

Religious liberties, primarily for Christians, suffered greatly during the 8 years under President Obama. President Trump has been true to his word and has done what he has been able to in order to protect the religious liberties of Christians. Sadly, there no assurance that those rights would continue to be protected should any of the people trying to become the Democratic nominee actually go on to become President.

*I don’t know how having a “transsexual” reading stories to children in a public library could be a problem, but it did in Houston. Pardon me for being facetious because it isn’t funny, since it turned out the individual who was a man thinking he was a woman and dressed as a woman reading stories to children was also a convicted child molester!

The relevance of this is that society has mainstreamed this type of mental illness. It is an accepted part of our culture to the extent that if you speak out against such gross perversion, YOU are the one who is a hater, a bigot, intolerant. Never forget the Bible tells us in the last day the truth will become the lie, and the lie will become the truth!

*Sadly, “nones” are now the leading religious group in the country. More people identify their religious preference as “none” than Evangelicals or Catholics. Those who have been reading the Liveprayer Daily Devotional and/or watching the Liveprayer TV program won’t be surprised. It was only a matter of time as the better percentage of the last two generations have never been to church. Older saints are dying and going home to be with the Lord and are not being replaced because evangelism is not a priority in most churches, and is actually seen as offensive in many.

*The new President of Planned Parenthood, Dr. Leana Wen, stated in an interview recently that there is no such thing as infanticide in medicine. This is probably one of the rare times I happen to agree with Dr. Wen since infanticide is defined as the intentional killing of infants. The medical community is dedicated to saving life, not taking life. However, what is practiced in Planned Parenthood clinics is NOT medicine, it is MURDER...it is INFANTICIDE!!!

*Recently in the UK, an Iranian convert to Christianity from Islam was seeking asylum. Islamic law calls for those who denounce Islam for any other faith to be killed. The applicant stated that he converted since Christianity was more peaceful than Islam. The British authorities however, denied the asylum request stating that based on verses they cherry picked out of the Old Testament, Christianity was NOT a religion of peace but of violence, and there was no basis to fear for his safety.

In the 25 yrs of Liveprayer, we have dealt with Muslim converts with family in countries like Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, to name a few. Sadly, upon their conversion to Christianity, it meant they could never see their family or home country again since they were not only disowned, but it would most likely be a family member to kill them!

*I remember the very first time I wrote in one of my Bibles. I held my breath for a minute and waited to see if lightning bolts were going to strike me, but realized after a few anxious minutes I was going to be ok. I had to laugh a month or so ago when President Trump visited Alabama and an area that had been ravaged by tornadoes. Many of the people he met asked for him to sign their Bible, which he was glad to do.

THE MEDIA WENT CRAZY! Who does he think he is, signing someone’s Bible! I personally have a Bible I use to just read from, and a Bible I use for study from that I make notes in. Actually, I have a box full of Bibles from over the years I have used for studying that have been marked with every type of ink and highlighter known to man. In case you wondered, there is NOTHING wrong with writing in your Bible, and having signed 100’s of Bibles for people over the years I have found it a humbling honor to be asked to sign someone’s Bible.

I love you and care about you so much! This is the real life world we live in my friend! It is a challenge to stay educated about the world we live in but are not part of, in order to the best ambassadors of Christ we can be as we share His love and hope with this lost and hurting world!

In His love and service,

Your friend, brother, and co-laborer in Christ,

Bill Keller
