Daily Devotional for Monday April 8, 2019

The most dangerous Democrat currently running for that party’s nomination!

(Matthew 7:21-23)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, please give us the discernment to see those who may call themselves followers of You, yet live in rebellion to Your Word! We know in the last days many “false Christ’s” will appear to deceive the very elect. Guide us oh Lord, and keep us close to You every moment of every day! In the name of Jesus I pray...AMEN!!!

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven,but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” Matthew 7:21-23

The most dangerous Democrat of the dozens currently running for that party’s nomination is a little known mayor from a small Midwestern town. Of course that is the mayor for the past 7 years of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg. “Mayor Pete” as he is called, is a Harvard grad and Rhodes Scholar. He was a Navy intelligence officer for 8 years with a 7-month deployment to Afghanistan. However, what makes “Mayor Pete” dangerous is that he is running for the Democratic nomination as a man of faith, a Christian!

The danger of “Mayor Pete” isn’t his claims to be a Christian, only God ultimately knows a person’s heart in regards to salvation. The danger is in the FACT that he claims to be a Christian despite choosing to engage in perverted, unnatural, unhealthy sex with other men, he has entered into a perverted “marriage” with another man, and wholeheartedly supporting the slaughter of innocent babies!

The Bible tells us we know a tree by the fruit it bears. While only God ultimately knows the human heart, as Christians we have every right and RESPONSIBILITY to judge a person’s words and deeds. I am not trying to be a smart aleck, but calling yourself a Christian doesn’t make you any more a Christian than if I called myself a giraffe!

YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN BECAUSE YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR HEART AND LIFE BY FAITH TO JESUS CHRIST! YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN BECAUSE AS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST YOU DO YOUR BEST TO OBEY HIS WORD! IT WAS JESUS WHO SAID, “IF YOU LOVE ME YOU WILL OBEY ME.” THAT MEANS HIS WORD!!! THE BOOK HE WROTE, THE BIBLE!!!

John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God!”

As a Christian we don’t get to pick and choose what parts of the Bible we want to obey and what parts we ignore. The Christian faith is not a smorgasbord! It doesn’t matter what you think or like, it matters what God SAYS! The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word, representing Absolute Truth, and our final authority in all matters!

Thirty years ago “Mayor Pete” would not even be taken seriously when he talks about his faith. That would be true 20 years ago, even 10 years ago. However this is 2019 and we have to understand the landscape of the “church” in 2019. I started warning people of the “religious left” 15 years ago. This movement has also given rise to the “fake church,” which I will discuss in the Daily Devotional tomorrow!

The "religious left" is made up of people who identify themselves as Christians and hold strong religious beliefs as well as sharing left-wing ideals. Obviously, this group has risen up in opposition to those who have been tagged the "religious right" or the "Christian right." The "Christian right" is that group of Bible-believing Christians who are politically active and seek to elect to office those candidates who hold to Biblical values on the key spiritual issues of our day that are also political issues.

These would be issues like abortion and life related matters, gay marriage, family issues, the proliferation of the pornography industry, and the drive to remove God from the public square. Those in the "religious left" actually take an anti-Biblical position on these issues and are also heavily involved in the ecumenical movement, environmental issues, opposing war for any reason, world hunger, and social issues like healthcare, immigration, welfare, and education.

The reality of 2019 is that the vast percentage of the past 2 generations have never been to church. Well over half of those who do go to church today are in a “church” that does not opposed abortion, or the LGBTQ community, or same-sex marriage. Due to the watering down of the Gospel and actually co-opting the new-age lie from hell that there are many roads that lead to God, actually rejecting the Bible as Absolute Truth, we have a generation of gutless motivational/prosperity/feel good messengers masquerading as pastors. Instead of the church leading the culture the culture is leading the church!

When you also factor in that the culture we live in does all it can to marginalize, minimize, and silence Biblical Truth, a media that is overtly anti-Christian, there is a war that sadly most Christians don’t even know is being waged by the religion of social justice and their only true foe...Biblical Christians!

“Mayor Pete” is in the public arena touting his faith and looking to tap into those in the faith community who have bought into the same watered down rejection of Biblical Truth he has. It should be no shock he is part of the Episcopal Church which I declared “anathema” 16 years ago when it elected a man who chose to engage in sex with other men, Gene Robinson! The fastest growing denomination in the US today is the Metropolitan Community Church. These are “churches” with “pastors,” men and women who proudly and unrepentantly engage in sex with people of the same sex and cater to a congregation of like-minded people.

The first real national attention “Mayor Pete” received was when Vice President Mike Pence was Governor of Indiana and introduced the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This was primarily introduced to protect the liberties of Christians that were being persecuted by public policy simply for their faith beliefs.

“Mayor Pete” led the charge in rebellion to this act, seeing it as undermining the “rights” of those in the LGBTQ community. It is clear from his public comments, he still harbors a real bitterness and hatred for VP Pence who he sees representing Biblical Christians...his enemy! (For the record, his real enemy isn’t Biblical Christians like VP Pence, but God’s Word!)

The nation is going to see for the first time the real dividing lines by those who claim to be Christians. On one side are those in the liberal camp of “Mayor Pete” who claim they love God, embrace the teachings of Jesus, and rebuke Biblical Christians as bigots and hate-mongers. They reject Scripture in their embrace of sexual perversion, perverting God’s Holy Institution of Marriage, and dismissing killing babies as a “woman’s right to choose.” They claim who oppose them are not real Christians, but intolerant, narrow-minded hateful people.

I love you and care about you so much. I have been writing for 20 years about the “Mayor Pete’s” of the world, the “fake church” I will go in depth about tomorrow, and our current generation of entertainment, ear-tickling, motivational “pastors” who refuse to talk about sin and hell. A responsibility of the true church is to equip the saints and train the flock for service and contend for souls. That rarely happens in the church today and why very few Biblical Christians are even aware this war I have shared with you today even exists!

Like all deceivers, “Mayor Pete” is good at quoting Scripture out of context to support his anti-Biblical beliefs. If you remember, satan when confronting Jesus during those 40 days and 40 nights quoted Scripture, but slightly off to serve his evil purpose.

Mayor Pete” like to quote President Lincoln when he said, “The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong.” He uses this quote in defending his rejection of Scripture, in justifying his sexual perversion, perverted marriage, and stand for killing innocent babies!

Like the master deceiver satan, he left off the most critical part of this quote. The last part of that quote says, “God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time.” The great question then becomes how do we know what God is for and what God is against? THE BOOK HE WROTE..THE BIBLE...TELL US! IT IS OUR FINAL AUTHORITY IN ALL MATTERS! That is what condemns “Mayor Pete” and those who claim to be Christians but live their lives in rebellion to God’s Word!!!
