TD Jakes and his celebration of mammon

(Ezekiel Chapter 13)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, few are chosen? What exactly does that mean? It makes it sound like only a few select people will be saved.

ANSWER: Scripture teaches that it is God's desire for ALL to be saved, that none be lost. Sadly, it is man exercising his freewill who makes that decision by faith to accept Jesus or reject Him. Those who will be saved have made the conscious, freewill choice to accept the Lord by faith. The "few" refers to the fact a large percentage will sadly reject faith in Christ. It also refers to the fact that even amongst Believers, God calls each of us to serve Him in various ways. Many however, choose NOT to fulfill his plan for their life by never fully surrendering to His will and serving Him as they are called!

A shining example of why this nation is under God's judgment and in spiritual freefall! If you ever needed an example of why this nation is seeing the judgment of God unleashed upon it, don't look any farther than Dallas, Texas this weekend and TD Jakes "Megafest" event. I have warned people for years about Jakes faulty theology (a common byproduct from someone who never spent 5 seconds in any sort of formal theological training, not even a Bible college education), denying the Biblical teaching of the trinity that is at the heart of the Christian faith.

Jakes, like the gutless cotton candy preacher Joel Osteen, is often in the secular media. He is not there to bring God's Truth to a non-Christian audience, many of whom have never really heard the Truth of the Bible, or to share the Gospel. No, he is there to promote one of his movies that has minimal value from a faith perspective, or his latest book that is always heavy on verbiage but light on solid theology, or to promote and defend the current President that has proven to be the most pro-death, pro-homosexual, pro-enemy of Israel President in history opposing God on every major spiritual issue of the day!

Jakes brags about his multiple Bentleys, multiple mansions, private jets, and living the life of a ruler of a small nation. Jakes always travels with a huge entourage like he is a Hollywood celebrity. Last I checked, Jesus came to serve, NOT be served! He is little more than one of dozens of property pimps who litter the landscape of Christian television, building their own kingdoms and not God's with what amounts to outright lies and scams by using passages of Scripture out of context to induce naive people to give them money in order to pay for their royal lifestyle!

This weekend in Dallas, over 50,000 sheep will attend Jakes "Megafest" that will feature Osteen (what a shock), the queen of spiritual crack Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Hudson, Kerry Washington, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Tamar Braxton to name a few. It will be a celebration of using the name of Jesus in an orgy of mammon!!!

I remember 14 years ago at the beginning of Liveprayer upsetting so many as I warned them about Oprah, a woman who has helped lead untold MILLIONS to hell while she makes tens of millions annually selling them the latest New Age lies from hell. As the years went on, others finally woke up and began to finally warn people about this true servant of satan.

WHY WOULD A SUPPOSED MAN OF GOD AS JAKES PROMOTE HIMSELF TO BE, ALLOW A WOMAN WHO SUPPORTS THE SLAUGHTER OF INNOCENT BABIES, THE COMPLETE RADICAL HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA, THE CULTS AND FALSE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD, WHILE PERSONALLY PROFITING TENS OF MILLIONS SELLING PEOPLE NEW AGE LIES FROM HELL THAT IS LEADING THEIR SOULS TO HELL???

Oh, that is right, "Megafest" is not about Jesus, God, or the Bible, though it is promoted as such. It is about MONEY!!! I can assure you of one thing, if Jesus was alive today and stumbled into this blasphemous celebration of mammon, like in the temple, he would overturn the money changing tables, take a whip and run everyone out of that auditorium!

Jakes rakes in $70-$80 million annually. A chunk of that goes to the Christian networks to air his programs, but at the end of the year he can't buy buildings, mansions, Bentley's, and private jets fast enough. Using even a portion of those funds to reach the lost and hurting isn't part of his business model!

It has always amazed me why people send someone money who isn't even preaching sound doctrine, certainly isn't ministering to people's needs, and doesn't lead anyone to faith in Jesus. Sending a charlatan like Jakes $5 is as effective as sending $5 to a politician. In the end, all you have done is help them advance THEIR kingdom and nothing else!!!

I love you and care about you so much. It is no wonder to me why this nation is in the spritual freefall it is when the supposed "Christian leaders" like TD Jakes are nothing more than con artists who use Jesus to build their own empires. "Megafest" is an absolute abomination and stench in the nostrils of God. I can assure you that while he and his entertainment friends are celebrating mammon and laughing at the fools who actually show up and spend their hard earned money, Jesus will be nowhere to be found, but satan will be in the front row applauding every minute!!!

What a 14 years it has been! This Saturday at Noon, Liveprayer is officially 14 yrs old! What a 14 years it has been!!! I could have never dreamed 14 yrs ago when Liveprayer began as nothing but a vision from God that we would have impacted tens of millions of lives around the world, sent personal responses to over 70 million emails for prayer, an archive with 7 million praise reports, and have 700,000 people we know of come to faith in Jesus!!!

ALL OF THAT HAS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THE PRAYERS AND FAITHFUL SACRIFCE OF THOUSANDS OF FRIENDS LIKE YOURSELF THESE PAST 168 MONTHS!!! THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO FULFILL GOD'S CALLING ON MY LIFE THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT OF THE LORD'S WORK HERE AT LIVEPRAYER!!!

As much as I have been tempted over the past few years to sit back, look at all we have accomplished, and get off the front lines to live the rest of my life peacefully, God won't let me. Just when I began to seriously think about ending this wonderful season of Liveprayer, the Lord has challenged me with one final work for the Kingdom, and that is to be used by Him to help lead this nation back to God and His Truth before we face his ultimate wrath and punishment for our rebellion.

To be honest, on the surface it sounds wonderful but doesn't seem possible. That would be easy to conclude, but when you read the Book of Jonah, he was sent to a completely secular society nearing God's ultimate wrath and punishment. However, the people of Nineveh repented, turned to God, and for a season were spared his judgment. It was possibly the greatest single revival in human history!

The Bible teaches that God is no respecter of person, and what He did for Nineveh He will do for us. The key of course is IF we respond the way Nineveh did! The Bible also clearly teaches that nothing is impossible with God. After watching his miracle working power over and over each day these past 14 years how could I ever doubt Him?

After all, when He gave me the vision for Liveprayer the year prior, I knew nothing about the internet an didn't even own a computer. Look at what HE HAS DONE!!! So my resolve is stronger than ever, my focus sharp, my hand to the plow not looking back.

I desperately need a few friends to help me today. We still need to bring in $26,000 to cover the balance of our basic August operations over the next few days. I need $8,000 of that amount IMMEDIATELY since they are operational expenses due the first days of the month, meaning they are 4 weeks in arrears.

I am praying today for God to send 2 friends today who can help me with a special one-time gift of $4,000.
