The Leader of a Nation Who Gets It

(Jonah Chapter 3)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, are demon possessions still occurring and possibly more prevalent today?

ANSWER: Yes, absolutely. However, never forget that a Believer can NEVER be demon possessed. Demon OPPRESSED, but never demon possessed since their body is indwelled by the Holy Spirit.

The leader of a nation who gets it! For years I have been telling you that unless this nation has a "Nineveh moment," it would be doomed to experience the full wrath and judgment of God for our sins. We know in the Bible that after the prophet Jonah warned the people of Nineveh to repent of their sins or God would destroy them, the secular king believed the words of the prophet and ordered the people into sackcloth and ashes. The Bible says God spared Nineveh!

If you want to experience that "Nineveh moment" today, you may have to move to Uganda! During Uganda's 50th anniversary of independence from Britain, President Yoweri Museveni publicly repented of his personal sin and the sins of the nation. "I stand here today to close the evil past, and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness," Museveni prayed.

"We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation. We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal," Museveni said.

"Forgive us of sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism; sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility; sins of corruption and bribery that have eroded our national resources; sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness and debauchery; sins of unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge; sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation; sins of rebellion, insubordination, strife and conflict," Museveni prayed.

Next, the president dedicated Uganda to God.

"We want to dedicate this nation to you so that you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a nation that fears God and as a nation whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice to fulfill what the Bible says in Psalm 33:12: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. A people you have chosen as your own," Museveni prayed.

This I can assure you, GOD WILL HONOR THIS MAN'S PRAYERS! They key will be how will the people respond. Will they follow this Godly leader or rebel against him? Museveni received lots of criticism for passing laws criminalizing homosexual behavior. A current bill before the Ugandan Parliament increases the jail sentences for homosexual acts and includes criminal penalties for those who encourage or promote homosexuality.

I love you and care about you so much. If the people will follow their leader in repentance, Uganda could become one of the most blessed places on the planet. It could also become a model for other national leaders. God's promises are not limited to the United States, or one group of people, but they are universal and available to all.

I will be keeping a close watch on Uganda in the coming months. Watching for how the bulk of the citizens their respond. Watching close that if the people follow their leader in this call for personal and national repentance, how God's blessings will flow across that nation. Praying ever since I heard of this incredible bold stand for the Lord, that it will be a spark to other nations around the world to follow suit, since it is the ONLY hope and answer for the United States, and the ONLY hope and answer for the nations of the world!

In His love and service, Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
