We Can Choose to Do Something Great for God or Something in Rebellion to God
(Deuteronomy 30:19) ***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, what happens if a mother is saved through Jesus Christ, she dies and goes to Heaven, but her son did not know Jesus and therefore he did not go to Heaven? Would that mother be sad in Heaven for all eternity because her son whom she loved on the earth will not be with her anymore?
ANSWER: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4
As I was in prayer last night, it brought to my mind the realization that each day we wake up and during the course of that day we can choose to do something great for God, or we can choose to do something totally in rebellion to God!!!
This thought has motivated me more than you can imagine, how we have the ability each day to CHOOSE to do something GREAT FOR GOD. We don't have to just sit back and allow the flow of life to move us along. Those who do evil acts like the man who decided to go to a movie theater in suburban Denver and shoot innocent people, made a choice to not just live out the day like every other day. He woke up and made the choice to destroy innocent lives at random as well as his own.
Just like this young man woke up and made the choice to do something evil, we also have the choice each day to do something POSITIVE . ..even better... something GREAT FOR GOD!!! This morning, you woke up. You had had your normal Thursday schedule in front of you. Chances are great that at the end of the day you will go to sleep. At the end of the day, WHAT DID YOU REALLY ACCOMPLISH OTHER THAN LIVE ANOTHER DAY???
One of the points I try to drive home is that tomorrow is promised to none of us. We all are guilty of taking our days for granted. We all WASTE the better portion of the day just "getting by." Most will one day grow old, get sick, and lay on their death bed wondering where the time went, where all the days of their life went. The other night as I got out of the shower, I took my washcloth and began to wring the water out of it. As I did that over and over, I realized that this is what we must do to each day.
GET EVERY DROP OF LIFE OUT OF EACH DAY, BECAUSE ONE DAY THIS LIFE, AS WE KNOW IT, WILL BE OVER.
So the challenge that I bring to you today is this.
TODAY . . . DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR GOD!!!
God has given each of us, given YOU, special gifts. The Bible says that people perish for lack of vision. Where does vision come from? God!!! Where did the vision for Liveprayer come from? God!!! Where will the vision you need to do something great for God to come from? God!!! Start praying. God will give you the vision, and He will open the doors. The ONLY thing stopping you from doing something great for God TODAY is YOU!!!
I don't care if you are 15 or 85 . . . today you can do something great for God!!! In this life, we can either sit back and let our life pass us by, we can sit back and simply go with the flow and let each day slip past us until life is over, or we can take control of our life and make a difference. We can make a difference for God!!!
I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today. In the name of Jesus, the Son of the living God, you are here to make a difference for God. It is what God has called each of us to do. Peter made a difference for God. Paul made a difference for God. John Wesley made a difference for God. Billy Graham is making a difference for God. What is the difference between you and Peter, or Paul, or John Wesley, or Billy Graham? NOTHING!!! The ONLY difference is that these men made a decision to make their life count for the Kingdom!
I prayed this morning as I typed these words, that if only ONE person, only ONE person of the millions who will read these words in the next days will accept this challenge . . . millions of lives can be changed for eternity!!!
YOU CAN BE THAT ONE!!!
Many of you have been called by God but have run, just like I did for many years. God is speaking to you today to stop running and give Him your life. The Bible says that what man meant for evil, God meant for good.
Today, you can choose to something GREAT FOR GOD!!!
In His love and service, Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
