The Greatest Play in Yesterday's Super Bowl was an Ad for Pro-Life
The greatest play in yesterday's Super Bowl did not occur on the field, it was a commercial. Heisman Award winning and two-time National Championship quarterback from the Florida Gators, Tim Tebow and his mother Pam appeared in a commercial that celebrated life and the family. It was a quality and well-presented message from Focus on the Family that has caused incredible outrage from those in the pro-death movement. What this commercial really did, was expose once and for all those who support the legalized slaughter of babies like our President Barak Obama. Only someone who opposes God's plan for the family and supports a woman's right to kill her baby could have anything negative to say about that Super Bowl commercial.
There are some subjects in the Devotionals that I never feel a need to deal with in an expansive way because the issues are so black and white. I have been asked many times over the last 126 months on what I felt about abortion and that hotly-debated subject. My friend, as much as that issue has become politicized, it is a non-issue in my mind, since the Bible clearly says that life is from God. It is a precious gift from God, and only God has the right to say when it is over.
Just so there is no misunderstanding, life begins at conception. At that miraculous point, even in its most basic stage, it has a God-breathed soul, and NO ONE but God has the right to say when that life should end. God has given us free will to make our own decisions so for those who do not agree with this point of view, that is your God-given right. However, this is not my opinion, it is God's opinion. You either accept His Word for what it is, or treat it like some book of stories and nice teachings. That is why those who live in rebellion to God MUST trivialize His Word. His Word is absolute TRUTH, and to live in opposition to the Bible, you have to reject it!
It was touching to watch the Funeral Mass for John Cardinal O'Connor several years ago, as his lifetime view on the sanctify of life was reiterated. Within a few seconds, there came a thunderous applause followed by a standing ovation. Cardinal O'Connor lived and taught that it is God who gives life and only God can take life. Abortion is murder. Even staunch supporters of abortion rights had to stand in the midst of the resounding ovation for life! My friends, let me say it again. The sanctity of life is NOT a political issue . . . it is a spiritual issue!!! It is a pillar in our spiritual house that has been compromised and destroyed over the last 37 years. Legislating the right to have abortions was a natural flow from the rebellious lifestyles we accepted in our society that caused so many unwanted pregnancies. Today, we legally slaughter apx. 4,000 innocent babies every 24 hours in this nation!
As this pillar has been crumbling before our very eyes, it has allowed the pillar of marriage to weaken and crumble as well. The moral decay in our society has infiltrated every segment of our society, even to the highest echelons of government as our current President has become the most pro death President ever. A former Vice President candidate and man who ran to be President in 2008 committed adultery and fathered a child out of wedlock. One governor resigned after being caught with a high priced call girl, another in the process of getting a divorce after his affair with a South American woman became national news. These are perfect examples of why we must follow God's Word, and be in prayer for those in leadership. Listen to me, the moral decay of our society is NOT a political issue, it is a spiritual issue!!!
It has been my longstanding personal philosophy that the only way to see legitimate change in our society is by seeing hearts changed, and lives transformed by the power of God . . . one at a time! I have no illusions of trying to save the world. Only God can do that. The job He has given to me during this season of my life is to be faithful to those He places in my path each day through this ministry. That is why each day I do my best to warn you, challenge you, encourage you, rebuke you, and support you in being all that God has called you to be during this life. Reversing the moral decay of this society is only going to happen as each one of us wakes up each day, lives our life in a way that is pleasing and acceptable to God, and serves Him to the best of our ability.
Let me say a quick word to those of you men and women who have lived through the tragedy of an abortion. What has happened is in the past. Satan will try to use something like that to deter you from serving God and try to convince you that you are not worthy, etc. That is a lie from the father of lies. God loves you, will forgive you, and wants you to move on. Your best way to get beyond this or any sin in your life is by serving Him with all you have from this day forward. He has saved you, forgiven you, and extended His grace to your life because He loves you and wants you to enjoy the peace and joy only He can give.
*On the Liveprayer.com homepage, we have a special 55 second video clip of an actual abortion being performed. If you have not watched it, YOU MUST! This is what happens to over 4,000 innocent babies EVERY DAY in this nation! Since God led me to get this footage and put it on the website nearly two years ago, we have had over 4,000 emails from women who were contemplating having an abortion, watched the video, and changed their mind (Watch the incredible testimony of baby Delilah also on that same link).
I love you and care about you deeply. I know the hurt many of you have carried with you, some for many years, because of things you have done in your past. Many of you have either had or fathered a baby that was aborted. Today is the day to deal with it once and for all. Trust His Word that says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Now is the time to put your sin behind you, realize God has forgiven you, and move forward. God has a perfect plan for the rest of your life. It was God that gave you life, and it is God who will determine when it is over. Until that time, our purpose is to serve and glorify Him each day. Life is precious, so treat each day for what it is . ...LIFE.. . a gift from our Heavenly Father!
