Media's Attack on Christian Faith

(Isaiah 62:6, Ezekiel 3:17, Hebrews 13:17)

The media's relentless attack on the Christian faith, wins and losses in the war against homosexuality, and an update on the 2008 Presidential race. Over the past week or so, I have accumulated lots of important news items that probably aren't worth an entire Devotional, however, putting them together they collectively give us a good read on where our culture is at spiritually this very moment. Each one is important since they not only give us a look at the spiritual state of our culture, but should provide you all the motivation you need to step up and take your stand for Christ. Those who oppose God, who live in rebellion to His Word, and who are leading people away from faith in Christ even though they may claim to be His followers, are bold, aggressive, and busy. That only means we need to be more bold, more aggressive, and more busy in sharing the Truth of God's Word and the hope of Christ with this lost and hurting world we are passing through.

One of the reasons I have been fighting so hard for the Liveprayer TV program to get back on a national secular network is to be able to stand toe-to-toe with the secular media that takes every opportunity it can to mock, demean, and blaspheme our faith completely unopposed. Let me ask you a question. Who, on secular television is taking a stand for Christ and the Truth of His Word? The answer is NOBODY! Comedy Central has a comedian named Sarah Silverman who recently did a scene of her having sex with a black actor representing God, and then brushing him off as he attempts to cuddle with her after their lovemaking.

One of the most vocal and chief Christian haters in the media today is Bill Maher. On his HBO program "Real Time with Bill Maher," he takes every opportunity he can to belittle and castigate people of faith as being stupid, unenlightened, and mindless idiots. My PR firm has been close several times to getting me booked as a guest on his program, but like most cowards, Maher is not looking for someone who will stand up to him and challenge his beliefs, but weak people representing Christianity who he can bully, intimidate, and use as the punch lines for his sick and irreverent jokes.

Two new movies out that slam the Christian faith are "The Ten" and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." "The Ten" is a comedy that spoofs the Ten Commandments, featuring a portrayal of Jesus deflowering a young virgin. Another anti-Christian movie now out is, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." This movie is little more than a pro-homosexual propaganda that makes a mockery of Gods' Holy Institution of Marriage. Blaspheming Christ and slamming Christians is alive and well in Hollywood in 2007! I am often curious why these great filmmakers in Hollywood don't have the guts to mock and lampoon the false religion of Islam. They know there will be a bounty on their heads and movie theaters will be burned to the ground!

On the war against homosexuality front, there is actually some good news. Jim Naugle, the Mayor of Ft. Lauderdale is under attack for trying to stop the growing problem of men having sex with men in public restrooms, citing that Broward County leads the nation in new cases of AIDS and questioned whether the county tourism office should be welcoming people who choose that deviant form of sex. Of course he has come under attack from the pro-homosexual organizations in South Florida, but praise God for a man who has the courage to take a stand against this destructive and deadly sin!

Also, Michael Glatze, who was a leading homosexual rights activist and had become a frequent media source as the founding editor of Young Gay America magazine, has turned from the sin of homosexuality! Glatze recalls the change in his life began with inner "promptings" he now attributes to God. Glatze said. "I feel strongly God has put me here for a reason. Even in the darkest days of late-night parties, substance abuse and all kinds of things - when I felt like, 'Why am I here, what am I doing?' - there was always a voice there." AMEN! Daily here at Liveprayer we see men and women freed from this bondage and we rejoice that such a visible figure in the pro-homosexual movement has renounced his sin and turned to the Lord!

Sadly, however, Microsoft founder Bill Gates is investing $26.2 million dollars in Planet Out, a publishing company which runs Out magazine as well as the dating website Gay.com which is used primarily for sexual "hook-ups" and all-gay RSVP Cruises. What a wonderful way for one of the world's richest men to invest his money. Also, on August 9, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, and several other Democratic candidates will hold a televised debate devoted solely to issues facing the homosexual community. This debate will be broadcast on the gay cable network LOGO. Lastly, there are now billboards in Indianapolis lying that the Bible supports the sin of homosexuality. If you don't think we are in a WAR against this sin, you better think again. God destroyed two great cities, Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin of homosexuality

Finally, in the race for the White House in 2008, you better start getting prepared for the Democratic ticket to be Hillary Clinton for President with her running mate being Barak Obama. As the kabuki dance of the nomination process with the various primaries plays out over the next year, when the dust settles, don't be surprised to see these two teaming up. In my personal opinion, nothing will drive the nation back to God and incite a spiritual revival quicker than having Hilary as President with Obama as the VP. Also, the FOX News love fest with satanic cult member Mitt Romney continues. I was actually on the floor laughing the other night as Scientology cult member Greta Van Susteren used her program to promote Mormon cult member Romney's bid for the White house by interviewing his sons who also are part of that satanic cult. What a scene!!!

I love you and care about you so much. This is a great snapshot of the world we are living in at this very moment in August of 2007. TV and Hollywood have no conscience about mocking Christians and blaspheming Christ, we are losing an all out war against the sin of homosexuality, and we will most likely have in the White House in 2008 a leader of this nation who might give lip service to God, but whose actions will clearly make them an enemy of God.

What can you do? Everyone can pray! We need to pray this nation turns back to God and the Truth of His Word. We need to pray for a spiritual revival to be sparked that will bring the lost masses to their knees and to faith in Christ. We are overdue God's wrath in whatever form that may take. Jesus is coming at any moment to usher in the final chapter of human history. Man will no longer find his peace and comfort in the things of this world but in a relationship with Christ and the promise of Heaven.

Also, please continue to pray for Liveprayer and support this work of God as you are led and able. I have no doubt in looking back over these past 8 years and when you hear all I have to share with you on Monday, you will clearly see that God has been positioning Liveprayer to go into this dark world and without shame or compromise bring the light of His Truth to the darkness and share the hope we have in Jesus Christ with the lost masses who are on a conveyor belt to hell.

We have proven we can compete with secular programming on their networks, bringing God's Truth into the conversation and seeing lives impacted and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit in the process. We can fight the pro-homosexual forces and defeat the lies of satan with the Truth of God's Word and see those in bondage to this sin set free. While we can't dictate who the next President is, we can certainly pray for whoever God allows to rise to that office as the Word instructs us to, and be used by God to lead this nation back to Him!

As you will learn Monday, God is taking Liveprayer to a new level. A new level of opportunity to reach into people's lives with the hope of Christ. A new level of accountability in bringing Biblical Truth into the marketplace. A new level of commitment to fulfill the responsibility God has given us to His work. Now more than ever I need your prayers, and over the next few months as everything is being unleashed, your faithfulness to sacrifice and give to support the Lord's work here. God has used the faithfulness of so many over these past 8 years to accomplish all we have for the Kingdom. Now the Lord is calling each of us to a new level of service as we blast the darkness of this world with the light of His Truth while bringing this nation back to God and the lost to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ!!!!
