It is Easier to Quit than to Fight

(Galatians 6:9)

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

I marvel at how God weaves together these Daily Devotionals, and how the Devotional one day leads right into the Devotional the next. I sure wish I could take credit for planning them out that way, but the fact is almost every time it happens it is God who did it, not me! Yesterday's Devotional was on not giving up, primarily dealing with the day-to-day issues of life we all face. Today's is a continuation of that message, however, specifically dealing with our service to the Lord.

I pray that this word will challenge you today as you step out to serve the Lord. As you serve, know that you will be attacked and that you will always have opposition. Don't give up! Cowards run, cowards give up. Anyone can run and hide, it takes courage, conviction, and spiritual guts to stand and fight. God will give you His strength to not give up and lead you to victory as you serve Him!

You want a good example of a guy who served the Lord and never gave up? Paul! Who needs the fictional drama programs of today. If you want to read some of the greatest adventure stories ever, ones that really happened, read the Book of Acts and the various missionary journeys Paul embarked on. Paul was beaten many times, thrown in jail, chased by angry mobs seeking to kill him, shipwrecked, betrayed and forsaken by those who were with him, had never-ending problems in the churches he helped to start, and ultimately was killed for his faith in Jesus. Yet, no matter what happened to Paul he never gave up, he never quit, and he kept pressing forward towards the "prize!"

I can assure you I will never quit!
