Porn is Coming to your Cell Phone
(1 Peter 5:8; 2 Corinthians 2:11)
While you were sleeping last night, satan has been busy. The enemy knows that his time is running out and he is making one last all-out attempt to bring as many souls into the Lake of Fire with him for all eternity as possible. For those souls he can't possess, he will do everything possible to steal their testimony, destroy their lives, and literally kill them exactly as Jesus told us he would do in John 10:10. Over the past 20 years satan has desensitized our culture to porn enough that he is now bringing porn to a basic tool of life in the 21st century most men, women, and children carry with them...the cell phone!
I don't know why anyone would be shocked or surprised at this news. After all, it was the pornography industry that is largely responsible for the Internet being what it is today. The pornographers were the pioneers of the rich content, streaming video, advertising, E-Commerce, and widespread availability of broadband on the Internet. Porn sites generate more daily traffic than any other type of site on the Internet and over $2 billion dollars of the $10 billion dollars spent each year on porn in the United States is generated over the Internet.
Let me be blunt with you and give you a dose of reality. I have started to see various groups that I know mean well, beating the drum to stop porn from being distributed on cell phones. IT IS TOO LATE! The same reasons you will never eliminate porn from the Internet are the very same reasons you will not be able to stop adult content from being distributed to cell phone users: demand, money, and the ability to operate anywhere in the world.
Because of the widespread availability and acceptance of pornography, the demand for porn is greater than ever. More and more people are in bondage to this perversion of God's wonderful gift of sex that is literally destroying countless lives every day. The lives of the men and women in bondage to porn are damaged, the lives of the spouses and families of those in bondage to porn are damaged, and the lives of the men and women who are part of the porn industry are damaged. Porn is also a major contributing factor to much of the evil we see in our world today, especially in cases of rape, child molestation, and other sexual crimes. It is a lie from satan himself, the father of lies (John 8:44) that porn is "adult entertainment" or harmless fun.
As I mentioned , the pornography industry in the United States is over $10 billion dollars a year and growing. With these types of dollars involved, the incentive for companies to cash in on pornography far outweigh any moral objections they may have. It is virtually impossible to conduct business today with a large corporation that doesn't have some connection to the pornography industry. Your credit card companies, who you get your Internet access from, your phone company, your cable or satellite TV company, all have links to and profit in some way from the porn industry. As pornography becomes even more accepted in our culture, you will see more companies finding ways to cash in on the huge dollars porn generates.
The other issue is that our world has become smaller with each passing day. Because of modern communications like satellites, the Internet, phones, and fax machines, almost anyone can have a global presence. This also makes it possible to operate a business from virtually anywhere on the planet. This has made dealing with the pornography industry from a legal perspective almost impossible. Companies can circumvent laws or the authority of government agencies like the FCC by simply operating outside the borders of the United States in countries that have no problem with them conducting that type of business on their soil. This is how much of the world's child pornography is distributed, thru Internet companies operating in countries that for a price, allow them to exist.
The bottom line is, because of the insatiable and growing demand for porn, the incredible amount of money it generates, and the ability to operate anywhere in the world, plan on seeing hardcore pornography being offered by your cell phone provider very soon. The fact is, if you have Internet access on your cell phone, you can already access porn through adult websites. So porn on cell phones already exists, it is simply going to be a new "option" your cell phone provider will offer you.
There is an answer for this, and for those of you who have been following Liveprayer for a while you have probably already guessed it. I love you and care about you so much. As sad as it is to see the deterioration of our society literally happen right before our very eyes, don't be discouraged. As I shared with you a few days ago, we already know the final score. While we should do everything we can to make sure these major corporations know we are not happy when they are used as pawns of satan in helping to destroy people's lives, we can't just sit back and let the enemy go unchallenged. For too long God's people have been satisfied to complain to each other about what satan was doing and not doing what God has called us to do. We can't help those satan is destroying every day when we are hiding in our churches, marketing Christian TV, radio, music, books and magazines only to other Christians, and using resources that could reach the lost in the world simply to build bigger buildings or allow some who serve God to live like the rulers of small nations.
In case you haven't noticed, satan is busy with his mission to destroy lives. While we have become fat, bloated, lazy and comfortable, he and those who serve him are working tirelessly to lead as many souls into eternal damnation as they can before their time is up. This is why Jesus said that we most work while it is yet light, because night is coming. He gave many parables about being obedient, working hard, being found faithful when He returns. Jesus did not stop the sin and evil in the world during his years on this earth, but He challenged it and bravely and boldly preached to the masses that there was an alternative to the lies of this world.
We are not going to wipe out sin and evil in our world since there will always be men who choose to live their lives in rebellion to God. However, we have the same job as Jesus did in preaching to the masses that there is a better way to live. In the Book of Hebrews we have a great promise that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means the very same Jesus who made the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, the very same Jesus that raised the dead, the very same Jesus that delivered people from their bondages, IS THE VERY SAME JESUS THAT IS ALIVE AND TOUCHING PEOPLE'S LIVES TODAY!
May we be faithful in taking to this lost and hurting world the message of hope and love in that same Jesus, telling them that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Jesus is the ONLY answer for this world today. May we proclaim that message loudly, clearly, and boldly to the very same people that satan is trying to destroy for all eternity.
