Daily Devotional for Friday August 24, 2001
Taking the Hope and Love of Christ to the World
(Matthew 24:14, Mark 16:15)
Some of the real heroes of the faith are those brave men and women who have given of themselves to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the far corners of our planet. I am honored that we have at least 1,500 missionaries that get this Devotional each day, who are working in over 50 foreign countries. Like everyone who works for the Lord, this is a special call God makes to some to take His Word to those who have never heard of His son Jesus Christ. My wife and I have always supported missions, since it is part of God's mandate to take the Gospel into every corner of the globe, to preach the Good News to every living person. We are honored to be able to support those in the mission field each day through the Daily Devotional and our prayers.
Of course, one of the exciting things about the work we do here at Liveprayer is the outreach we have to the world through the Internet. This vehicle makes it possible for us to share the hope and love of Christ with anyone in the world who has Internet access. God showed me this in a very powerful way on the second day of our operations. I received an email from a Christian in Hong Kong during our first week. He shared how he had heard about Liveprayer from a relative here in the US who told him about our new ministry on the Internet. This man in Hong Kong logged onto our website and LIVE prayer feed during our second day. As he was watching, he had to run a quick errand. His brother, who was not a believer, was at his home. He had just lost his business and was millions of dollars in debt. He was interested in what was going on and was watching our LIVE prayer feed as someone emailed the host and said he wanted to be saved. The host than explained the plan of salvation and led that person in prayer to accept Christ. As this was going on, this unsaved man in Hong Kong was watching, and prayed along with the host to accept Christ into his heart and life. His brother emailed his thanks for our ministry and how it was used by God to bring his lost brother into the family of God. THAT moment, as I read that email, the Holy Spirit opened my heart to see that people worldwide would be touched by our efforts.
The best we can tell, at least 20% or 140,000 people outside of the United States get our Devotional each day. People from over 120 countries have visited our website during the 23 months we have been on. We are starting a new program where we will have a key person in other countries who take the Devotional, translate it into their language, and send it to email addresses in their country. If you feel God calling you to be part of this effort to target people in your country, please email me at bkeller@liveprayer.com and we can discuss it further. The Internet will never replace those dedicated men and women who answer God's call on their life to serve those in foreign countries, but it is a tool of the last days that God can use take his message of hope and love through Christ to the world in the most economic and effective way possible. We are excited about this facet of our work here that is helping us o be part of God's mandate to take the Gospel into ALL of the world. Please be in prayer as we launch this new outreach of our Devotional in foreign languages to reach even more people each day for Christ. God gave us this incredible tool that links us with the world. We want to maximize its use.
I love you and care about you so much. Thank you for your love, prayers, and generous support of this work. When I take time to think about people all over the world being touched by God through this ministry, it is more than I can even comprehend. It continues to amaze me how God can take the faithfulness and obedience of a few and use it to transform the lives of many. Never forget we all have a responsibility to help take the Gospel to other nations, to other people around the world. Liveprayer is a great vehicle to do that. Together, we ARE making a difference each day, not just in the lives of people here in the United States, but in the lives of people worldwide!!!
