Moving Forward
(John 8:11)
One of the most common prayer requests I get each day is from people who are haunted and bound by their past sins. Hanging onto your past sins can be one of the greatest hindrances there is to serving God. By hanging onto your past sins, you allow the enemy to lie to you and make you believe that you are not good enough to serve God. You allow the enemy to make you believe that because of the things you have done in the past, God can never use you. Let me put things in perspective for you my friend. On our very BEST day, we are nothing more than sinners saved by God?s grace.
Listen to me very carefully today. When you asked God to forgive you from your sins, He not only forgave you as the Word promises, but He also forgot. When God forgives, He also forgets as if it never happened. It is wiped clean off the slate. Here is what I want you to understand. If God forgives you and then wipes the slate clean, shouldn?t we do the same? You cannot go back and relive the past. It is over. However, you have total control over the future. It is time to quit looking behind and start looking forward. God has a plan and purpose for your life. He has saved you and brought you to this point in time to use you for His Kingdom. Get out of the pit that is your past and onto the road that is today, and MOVE FORWARD!!!
I will be praying for you today, because I know this can be very difficult for many of you. Simply understand, that using your past against you is nothing but another ploy of the enemy to rob you of your blessings and service to the Lord. Don?t let the enemy steal your peace and joy that comes when we are living for Him. He has so much for you to experience, so many blessings...the abundant life promised in the Bible. It is now up to you to move forward and take all that God has for you. Your past life is behind you; it is over. Your future is before you, so go in God?s strength and make it count for the Kingdom!
