The Last Days

(2 Timothy Chapter 3)

In many of my devotionals, I have referred to the fact that we are in the last days. I have received tons of emails from people asking how I can be sure these are the last days, why I would use such words to scare and intimidate people. My friends, I have never have and will never use any perversion of Scriptures to do that to you. I love you and deeply care about you. I can only say that many do not know the Bible and what it has to say about the last days. You do not have to have more than a 6th grade education to read the 3rd Chapter of 2 Timothy, or read what Christ said in Matthew 24 verse 7 about the conditions of the last days, to realize that we are indeed living in the last days. While scripture is clear that no one but God knows the exact time of Christ?s return, it is IMMINENT. My goal in these devotionals each day is to help prepare you for that time so that you will be found a ?good and faithful servant? upon His return.

I pray today that you will take note of these verses, so that you will be more focused each day on the fact that Christ will be returning. It is not a Hollywood movie or Broadway play. It is not a fictional story dreamed up by some great writer. In Acts 1:11, we read of the fact that Christ WILL BE RETURNING. As you know, our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify the Lord with our lives. Our life is also a preparation for eternity with Him. One of my main objectives each day is to encourage you, challenge you to fulfill your purpose in this life, and help you be prepared for that eternity with our Lord. It is time the church wake up and be the church. Why are there more churches today than ever before in recorded history, yet every sort of evil imaginable is running rampant as never before? There is a paradox in these facts that begs the question, ?Why is the church not more effective?? The answer is because the church is actually the people, and the people are lazy, immature, without focus, unchallenged, and apathetic about the faith they claim to hold.

THESE ARE THE LAST DAYS ? CHRIST IS COMING AND IT IS TIME, TODAY, TO TAKE INVENTORY OF OUR LIVES AND BE AGGRESSIVE IN OUR SERVICE TO GOD, AND BE PREPARED FOR ETERNITY WHEN THIS BRIEF LIFE IS OVER.

I do love you and care about you, and will be praying today that you take these words to heart. It is time to get serious because there are too many people without any clue what is going to happen when this life is over. It is our responsibility to share the love and hope we have in Christ with them. To do that effectively, we have to get our own lives in order as well. God loves you and will help you each step of the way.

I pray today is a great day as you become focused on how little time we really have and how much work God has for us to do. We can make a difference as we all work together. God has raised us up for this time. We are His instruments. It is no accident we are alive on this very day in history. The Word is clear. Now it is up to each one of us to act on it.
